CBD FAQs

Is CBD (cannabidiol) legal?

Yes. Hemp derived CBD has been made federally legal in the United States through the enactment of The Farm Bill in 2018. Although it cannot contain more than 0.3% THC.

How long does it take for CBD to kick in?

Generally, you can begin to feel the effects of CBD within 15 minutes of using it sublingually. Edibles and topical products can take between 30mins to an hour or two to kick in.

How long do the effects last?

It all depends on your body, how much you take, and how you take it. But generally, the effects of CBD can last from 2 to 6 hours.

Can CBD be addictive?

Unlike THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), CBD does not produce intoxicating effects. And while cannabis product with higher levels of THC use can lead to dependence, current research suggests that CBD is not addictive.

Will CBD cause me to fail a drug test?

Most drug test panels, including the one used for federally regulated drug tests, test for THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the intoxicating component of cannabis, not CBD. However, CBD products may contain trace levels of THC that could lead to a positive drug test.

Does CBD interact with any other medicines?

Always check with your doctor before taking CBD with other medications. CBD may interact with some commonly prescribed medications including warfarin, lithium, sertraline, tramadol, codeine, captopril, and valproic acid and carbamazepine (both are anti-seizure medications). Some medications, called sedatives, can also cause sleepiness and slowed breathing. Taking CBD with sedative medications might cause breathing problems and/or too much sleepiness.
